Can an older 16 gauge shotgun handle steel shot?
i have an old Remington Sportsman and its around 50 years old. My buddy said that since its so old that it wont be able to handle steel shot. So could it handle the steel shot and if not what would be good alternatives?
ive seen zinc shot and bismuth but i dont know if those would work.

Think about it . The shot never touches the barrel. Steel shot capable barrels are hype to get to get you to buy a new gun. If its an older gun I wouldn’t use full Magnum loads.
