Replacement Blades

Why are replacement blades for shavers ei: Gillette Mach 3, etc so expensive?
I’ve checked-out the prices and no pharmacy or store has them for under $8.00 for 4, they are usually $9.97 or 16.97 for package of 4 or 8, which is ridiculous!
I’m pretty sure that the more expensive shavers are supposed to last you longer and be nicer for your skin than the disposable ones.
2 dollars for each replacement razor doesn’t sound so bad.
