Rider Long
What age horse/pony would you reccomend for a first time owner, long time rider?

I know that not too old or too young is best, but as a general rule, what would you say the boundaries would be?

[This is a theoretical question only]

Theoretically, if you were keeping the horse at home, I’d go for something 8-12 years old. I have young horses who are always looking for some way through the fence and they are exhausting. 8-12 would not need any special supplements or feed. if you are boarding, I would just get anything over 5 and let the boarding facility worry about keeping them in.
