Can I turn things around in time for college admissions?

I’m an incoming sophomore
I plan on applying for Bennington College in a few years
But… this year, my cumulative GPA was a 2.8 and I almost failed several classes.
It was because I have clinical depression (we didn’t find out until later) and I couldn’t motivate myself.
If I get good grades and SAT scores in time for admissions, can I get in to Bennington?
ALSO- I’m a competitive horseback rider, dancer (ballet, tap, jazz, poms, character, non-syllabus, pointe, celtic), Jr. Miss Aberdeen, and member of Teens Against Tobacco Use and 4H.

What are my chances???

Grades are very important, but they are one part of many in your college application. Do the best you can the next two years and see how much you can get your GPA up. You definitely still have a chance to get into some pretty good schools, though top tier ones are probably out of the question at this point. You’ll also have to focus on getting good SAT scores, finding good teachers to write recommendations for you, and writing an awesome essay.

Also, do include a supplemental letter explaining your situation and your grades. Don’t be whiny. Include a doctor’s note if possible. This might help people at admissions to look at your application a little bit differently, especially if your grades improve after you sought help.
