folding the barrel down on a break barrel pellet rifle?
ok i got a 1000 fps break barrel pellet rifle. ive hhave other rifles but this is my first break barrel one. ok im a teenager. i mean im not weak im pretty strong but i can not for the life of me fold down the barrel to load it. should it be really hard to do. or is something wrong or do u need to press some button and then fold it down. or what?
Helpful if you said what rifle was. RWS, Gamo? Whatever, on a couple break barrels I’ve shot the latch, barrel lock lever is usually close to hinge- is there a small lever just under stock by hinge area or on left side of barrel next to hinge? these little levers are the barrel locks that hold barrel in alignment with spring/cup receiver air hole. Push or pull lever and barrel should open a bit, end of barrel would drop about 1/2 inch- then you can grasp end of barrel and pull until plunger is back and c-o-c-k-ed. Straighten barrel and let latch lock barrel. Some smaller low powered break open model don’t have latches- they depend on spring-loaded plunger to keep barrel in alignment.
