Most elite American Special forces/operation unit?
Its between the Green Berets, the Rangers, Navy Seals, 82nd Airborne, Marine force recon, Marine scout snipers and the Delta force. If u have any that i did not mention than just say so. And i think that the Delta force are the most Elite, hey exist their are many books on them and they go through a strict selection after a few years of service through the regular special ops (rangers and green berets) they serve in battle like regular spec ops, more experienced delta units serve under cover with the CIA and do what ever they are order, they can improvise and are the best around and were started by an SAS veteran. They do not exist in the records of the Defense department but some soldiers can tel you about them, probably most of them……
It would be between the NSA and Delta Force. Of course all of the units mentioned are highly trained but have different roles. Delta force began by recruiting members mostly from the fifth group Special Forces at Ft. Bragg but recruits come from all branches of the military and are recruited for their special skills and physical characteristics. It existed prior to its official recognition for approximately 10 years as force “blue light” and was originally formed by Bull Simons to free prisoners from Son Tay prison in North Vietnam. Delta Force members are often cross trained and many have been to Seal training and all are jump qualified. Many are “HALO” qualfied. During the 70′s their primary role was anti-terrorism by preempting terrorist attacks but such covert activity was ended by President Jimmy Carter. NSA are “super spooks” and are most active in gathering security information and coordinating with other intelligence agencies like Israel’s “MOSAD” which was formerly the role of Delta Force.
