Need For Speed Shift is Worth Playing
After just renting the game I came back rather impressed. Some of the last additions of the game have really not been very good at all. A lot of the previous editions of the Need For Speed games have actually been pretty poor. It did need a bit of a makeover.
The creators have actually scrapped all previous ideas for the titles and made the game into a proper, realistic racing experience which has actually got a chance to complete with the upcoming 360 exclusive, Forza 3.
The game itself is long lasting indeed, with hours needed to be spent on it to gain access to cars and to finish all of the races. Some of the online modes are certainly going to take a while to get into.
This game isn’t about used cars but more about the custom made models from the likes of BMW, Ford and every other car maker you can think of.
In terms of playing for fun , Need For Speed did seem a lot better than Forza but then again I have only managed to play the Forza demo. Forza seems to have a better engine when it comes to graphics as well as having a larger selection of cars.
EA have concentrated on the driver himself and have tried to make you feel like the driver. EA has made it so that if you crash or bump into someone you feel like the driver in that the screen will go blurry, high speeds are also shown in this way. This is quite a nice effect as not many games have actually done this to a very good standard and this time EA have seemingly pulled it off.
It is really up to you on the decision to take when it comes to buying these games, you could do what a lot of people are doing and buy them both!
