Price of an old colt police 38 special mint?
I can get a old Colt police 38 special with stag grips it is in working order I have even fired a couple of round through it its from the 40′s I think it has some Petunia on it and it looks really nice. The guy is asking $150 for it so is it worth it?

According to my 21st Edition Standard Catalog of Firearms, a Colt Police Positive Special in the condition you describe would e worth around $200.00 to 250.00.
The book lists specimens in poor condition at $100.00, in Fair Condition at $150.00 and in Good Condition at $250..00
From you description I’d rate it as being between Fair and Good, and closer to the Good end of the scale. If the “Stag Grips” are real stag and not imitation they would boost the value at least another $25.00 to $50.00.
Sounds like a darned good deal for a good six-gun to me.
