how do i clean a stainless steel knife?
i went fishing out in the gulf coast a few weeks ago and i brought my knife with me, now i have rust spots on it and i dont know how to clean it. its a $80 knife so i’d rather not order a new blade!
with the WD40 do i just let it soak in it or do i scrub it with something?
Rub it gently with ’0000′ steel wool. Don’t use WD-40, which will soak into the tiny pores of the metal (btw, ‘stainless’ in French is called ‘inox’ and in Spanish it’s ‘inoxidable,’ and ‘rostfrei’ in German all of which mean ‘rust free.’); wipe the crud off, then wash in hot soapy and wipe dry, then blow-dry with a hair dryer quickly. Then wipe a tiny bit of cooking oil on it.
