SOG Aegis plain edge vs tanto w/ partial serration?
I’m looking into the SOG Aegis. I was wondering whether I should get the:
plain edge:

or the:
tanto with partial serration:

I intend for this to be a defensive(heaven forbid) and/or rescue knife.
Which should I get?
I say get a plain edge. I have the tanto blade with partial serration and the seration is only on one side. It just isn’t that sharp and I think the best advantage of the tanto is to stab and penetrate thick clothing. Maybe that is a huge advantage but I perefer my plain edge blade that is sharp everywhere and honestly it is a utility and defensive knife for me.
