How come good movies like Superman / Supergirl, Terminator, Predator, Karate Kid, Conan, E.T., Neverending?
Story, Rocky, Masters of the Universe, Star Wars, Star Trek, etc. sprung up after the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s and the end of the last of the Jim Crow laws? Did the new movies reflect a new age of freedom?
Oh, I forgot Robocop and Alien.
There is no doubt about it – movies reflect what’s happening in society.
And there is a school of thought that thinks society reflects film.
Though I cannot see the connection with the films you have mentioned and the end of the Jim Crow laws.
The films you mention have little to do with African Americans rights or segregation.
