legal knife info for california, USA?
i live in hayward california and like to collect knives.
need to know if i can legally have this knife on me for example, just a simple drive down the street to get gas and go pick a friend up and go home. or walkin’ arround. i’d have it on the belt/pocket clip at all times unless needed for small chore or whatever.

Yes, the state of California has NO LIMIT on the length of blades. Because this knife is not a switchblade nor balisong, and folds, it is legal to carry concealed. California even says in its law that one-handed thumb-stub knives like this are legal.
Keep it concealed carefully though, no pocket clip or anything showing. Especially in Los Angeles County. In that county, it’s only illegal to carry knives with more than 3″ blades if it’s OPENLY carried. This is the opposite of most laws which make concealed carry a crime, go figure. Be wary of some other cities as well, as they may have stricter laws. And don’t go near schools or courthouses.
And if you are doing the activities you describe, no cop is ever going to hassle or search you. They won’t have a reason to.
